AJSC Offered Condolences to the Family of Martyred Journalist

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) expressed its condolences to the family of the late Abdul Ghafour Abid, and visited wounded journalist Tawab Arman.


Jamil Weqar, head of the AJSC, traveled to Paktia province to meet and offer condolences to the families of the victims of the recent incident in which one journalist was martyred and another journalist along with their driver were injured.


Deputy director of AJSC was accompanied on this trip by Farooq Jan Mangal, AJSC’s southeastern zone coordinator, and Sahel Mangal, AJSC’s provincial representative in Paktia province.


In the meeting with the family of the martyred journalist, AJSC deputy director, in addition to expressing sorrow over this tragic incident, stated that Abed was an active member of Afghanistan’s media family, adding that we mourn his loss as deeply as you do.


He also visited the injured from the incident and assured them that AJSC is working to facilitate further support to ensure their proper treatment.


Meanwhile, AJSC had allocated financial assistance for the family of the martyr and the treatment of the wounded, which was handed over to them by its deputy director.
