The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held a consultative meeting with journalists and media representatives in Balkh province to gather their concerns, suggestions, and challenges.
The meeting was attended by officials from the AJSC, a number of local media representatives, active journalists from the province, and government officials.
During the discussion, participants highlighted the lack of job security, irregular access to information, shortage of work equipment, and the lack training programs aimed at improving journalists’ skills and professional capacity as the main challenges facing journalists in the province.
Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, in addition to appreciating the work and commitment of journalists, said that such meetings help us gain an accurate understanding of the realities, needs, and challenges journalists face, enabling better planning for the future and more effective responses to these issues.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the work of journalists and facilitate a safe environment for them.
