The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 23 different government entities in Balkh, Kandahar, Kundoz, Nangarhar, Laghman, Samangan, Kunar, Baghlan, Saripul, Faryab, Jawzjan, Helmand, Bamyan, Paktia, Takhar, Helmand Baghlan and Paktika provinces.
Officials of directorates of information and culture, information technology and communication, ATRA, economy, propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, and various other government entities in the said provinces, and AJSC’s coordinators for west, south, east, northeast and central zones and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
