AJSC Organized Meetings in 12 Provinces to Facilitate Access to Information

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized meetings with spokespersons and media officers of local administration in Kundoz, Nangarhar, Panjshir, Saripul, Baghlan, Paktia, Nuristan, Logar, Zabul, Bamyan, Uruzgan and Badakhshan provinces to facilitate journalists and media outlets’ timely access to credible information.


AJSC’s zone coordinators for the eastern and north eastern zones, AJSC’s provincial focal points, spokespersons for the governor’s office in Bamyan, Zabul, Logar, Panjshir and Uruzgan, spokespersons for police command of Panjshir, Zabul, Saripul, Uruzgan and Badakhshan, spokespersons for municipalities of Nangarhar, Paktia, Kundoz and Nuristan, and spokespersons of the directorates of prevention of vice and propagation of virtue of Logar and Zabul provinces, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings the concepts related to information and importance of journalists’ access to information were discussed, and the need for government entities at the local administrations in facilitating access to information was emphasized.


Government officials in these meetings promised to cooperate with the journalists and the media outlets, and provide journalists with the needed information.


AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and media workers across the country.
