To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 18 local media houses in Kandahar, Balkh, Khost, Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, Helmand, Uruzgan, Paktia, Nuristan and Kapisa provinces.
Head of AJSC, northern, south-eastern, eastern and southern zone coordinators and provincial focal points of AJSC, heads of RTA Nuristan, head of Paktia Bakhtar News Agency, managers of Sharq and Zala radio and television network, head of Gharghasht Tv, managers of Nan, Worangi, Shahamat, Hirmand, Badloon, Tabasum, Salam Uruzgan, Soli Paigham, Paiwastoon, Fajr, Neday-e Haqiqat, Tanin, and Haseen radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
