The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held a consultative meeting with journalists and media managers in Herat province to hear their concerns, recommendations, and challenges.
The meeting was attended by AJSC officials, local media managers, active journalists from the province, and government officials.
During the discussion, participants highlighted irregular access to information, financial challenges of media houses, high electricity costs, high cost of frequency license, and lack of training programs aimed at improving journalists’ skills and professional capacity as the main challenges facing journalists in the province.
Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, in addition to appreciating the work and commitment of journalists, stated that the AJSC is consistently working so that challenges faced by journalists and media houses are addressed, so that a better environment for media work is facilitated.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the work of journalists and facilitate a safe environment for them.
