The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC), on the sidelines of a consultative meeting with journalists from the southern zone, met with a number of journalists and media managers from Helmand, Uruzgan, and Zabul provinces at the Directorate of Information and Culture of Kandahar province.
Media managers and journalists, in addition to discussing existing challenges, said that more effort is needed in the areas of journalist capacity building and addressing economic challenges.
Jamil Waqar, head of AJSC, in this meeting, said that he has shared the challenges facing media work in the mentioned provinces with government authorities in relevant departments and ministries to seek solutions.
In the meeting, Ahmad Lodin, the AJSC’s southern zone coordinator, said that AJSC understands the challenges facing media, and is working to address them.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the work of journalists and facilitate a safe environment for them.
