AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in 12 Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 13 different government entities in Kandahar, Khost, Uruzgan, Paktia, Baghlan, Logar, Zabul, Jawzjan, Samangan, Faryab, Paktika and Nuristan provinces.


Governor of Paktika, mayor of Qalat city, officials of directorates of information and culture, public health, propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, and various other government entities in the said provinces, and AJSC’s coordinators for southern and south-eastern zones and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
