The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 14 different government entities in Parwan, Nimroz, Ghazni, Kunar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Baghlan, Samangan, Patktika, Zabul, Takhar and Saripul provinces.
Mayors of Charikar and Zaranj cities, officials of directorates of information and culture, and various other government entities, and AJSC’s central zone coordinator and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
