To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of local media houses in Kandahar, Nangarhar, Kundoz, Parwan, Zabul, Kunar, Laghman, Jawzjan, Paktia, Takhar, Kapisa, Bamyan, Nuristan and Panjshir provinces.
Southern, north-eastern and eastern zone coordinators and provincial focal points of AJSC, local journalists of Paktiak and Kapisa, and managers of Mazal, Seragh, Melat Ghag, Kichken, Nasim, Ghazal, Meli, Alina, Shahr ba Shahr, Khkola, Shaik Mati, Ziar and Toran radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
