AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials 16 Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 21 different government entities in Nangarhar, Bamyan, Takhar, Kunar, Nimroz, Ghor, Logar, Paktia, Faryab, Samangan, Saripul, Nuristan, Laghman, Helmand, Uruzgan and Baghlan provinces.


Governor of Kunar, police chief of Nurisant, officials of directorates of information and culture, and various other government entities, and AJSC’s coordinator for eastern zone and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
