To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 25 local media houses in Nangarhar, Balkh, Kundoz, Parwan, Jawzjan, Helmand, Badkhshan, Uruzgan, Kapisa, Baghlan, Daikundi, Nimroz, Ghor and Farah provinces.
Western, northern, north-eastern, capital and eastern zone coordinators and provincial focal points of AJSC, officials of RTA in Badakhshan, Nimruz, Laghman, Kapisa and Ghor, head of Yazdah radio and television network, heads of Bakhtar News Agency in Baghlan and Nimruz, head of Uranus Tv, and managers of Azaz, Yaad, Delha, Parwan University, Saday-e Parwan, Shahr ba Shahr, Arzkht, Etefaq-e Nawin, Paiwastoon, Kundoz, Fajr, Saday-e Dost, Taleem ul Islam, Saday-e Adalat and Faryad, radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
