The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with a number of journalists, media managers, and officials of the information and culture directorate of Badakhshan, to discuss challenges facing media work, access to information, and journalists’ safety in the province.
Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, during his meetings with officials, journalists, and media managers in Badakhshan, emphasized the continuation and strengthening of media work and stated that AJSC is working to address challenges facing journalists and provide better services for them.
Media managers and journalists in Badakhshan outlined key challenges facing their work, including economic challenges, broadcasting issues, lack of professional capacity, and insufficient equipment, and called for these issues to be addressed. They also stressed the need for facilitating capacity building programs for journalists in the province.
During these meetings, head of AJSC was accompanied by Hasibullah Fararoon, programs manager, and Sediqi Lalzad, AJSC’s provincial representative in Badakhshan.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
