Head of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee Meets Takhar-Based Journalists

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with a number of journalists, media managers, and officials of the information and culture directorate of Takhar, to discuss challenges facing media work, access to information, and journalists’ safety in the province.


Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, during his meetings with officials, journalists, and media representatives in Takhar, said that despite facing numerous challenges in recent years, media outlets have managed to continue their work. He emphasized the need to further strengthen the media and address the challenges facing journalists.


Mawlaw Zabihullah Ansari, director of information and culture in Takhar, stated that the department has consistently worked to address the challenges of journalists and media outlets and to facilitate even environment for media work.


Media managers and journalists in Takhar discussed the challenges facing media work and called for practical solutions to address these issues.


During these meetings, head of AJSC was accompanied by Hasibullah Fararoon, program manager, and Abdul Sami Khawari, AJSC’s representative in Takhar province.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
