The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 31 different government entities in Kandahar, Kudoz, Nangarhar, Kapisa, Takhar, Kunar, Nimroz, Ghor, Paktia, Faryab, Samangan, Saripul, Nuristan, Laghman, Farah, Paktika, Jawazjan and Baghlan provinces.
Deputy governor of Kapisa, police chief of Nimroz, spokesperson for the ministry of interior affairs, officials of directorates of information and culture, and various other government entities, and AJSC’s coordinators for southern, north eastern and eastern zones and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
