AJSC Shares Journalists’ Challenges with Minister of Information and Culture

Mawlawi Shir Ahmad Haqqani, Minister of information and culture (MoIC), along with Deputy Minister Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi and their accompanying delegation, met with journalists, media officials, and representatives of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) in Kapisa Province to discuss the problems and challenges facing the media.


In this meeting, Saadaullah Salehi, AJSC’s representative for Kapisa, presented the most pressing issues of the media to the Minister. He cited the high cost of renewing media licenses, difficulties related to installing filters and radio frequencies, challenges caused by electricity shortages, and financial problems of media outlets as major obstacles to their activities. He urged the MoIC to pay attention to these issues and take practical measures to address them.


Also present at the meeting were Rohullah Sangar, AJSC’s coordinator for the capital zone, and a number of journalists from Parwan and Kapisa provinces, who shared their views and suggestions on improving the situation of the media and overcoming existing challenges.


Minister of Information and Culture, while appreciating the work of journalists and media, emphasized the important role of media in informing and raising public awareness. He assured that the ministry will take necessary steps to address these problems and coordinate with relevant departments.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
