To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 25 media houses in Balkh, Herat, Kandahar, Parwan, Ghazni, Farah, Badghis, Ghor, Panjshir, Nimroz, Laghman, Logar, Badakhshan, Kunar, Jawzjan, Saripul, Helmand, Baghlan and Bamyan provinces.
AJSC’s coordinators for northern, central, western, southern, eastern and capital zones and provincial focal points, head of RTA in Panjshir and Nirmoz, managers of Islah ans Saadat Tv stations, and managers of Ziar, Nasim, Itehad, Chongar, Saday-e Ghor, Saday-e Adalat, Firozkoh, Samim, Nariman, Saday-e Dost, Lashkargah, Nawai Zan, Arghawan, Turkman, Khkula, Shahr ba Shahr and Setar-e Sahar radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
