The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 18 different government entities during the past month in Khost, Kundoz, Kandahar, Ghor, Nimroz, Farah, Baghlan, Jawzjan, Samangan, Bamyan, Faryab, Paktika and Logar province.
Mayors of Khost and Baghlan, officials of directorates of information and culture, and various other government entities, AJSC’s coordinators for southern, south-eastern and north-eastern zones and provincial representatives had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting and financials challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavor to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
