Head of AJSC Meets Journalists and Head of Information Culture Directorate of Bamyan

Head of the the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with a number of journalists, media managers, and director of the information and culture directorate of Bamyan, to discuss challenges facing media work, access to information, and journalists’ safety in the province.


Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, during his meetings with journalists, media manager, and director of information and culture of Bamyan emphasized on supporting journalists and media houses, adding that Bamyan is among the most significant symbols of Afghanistan and requires special attention, particularly in the media landscape.


Sayed Mustafa Salih, head of information and culture directorate of Bamyan, said that the government continuously strives to address media and journalists’ challenges, adding that access to information have been facilitated.


Media managers and journalists in Bamyan highlighted economic difficulties and the lack of sufficient training programs for journalists and media workers as major challenges to their work, calling for these issues to be addressed.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
