AJSC Shares Journalists’ Challenges in Kandahar with the Provincial Governor

Ataullah Omar, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee’s (AJSC) coordinator for the southern zone, shared challenges facing journalists and media outlets in Kandahar with Mullah Mohammad Shirin Akhund, Governor of Kandahar.


During the meeting, the AJSC zone coordinator discussed the overall situation of media and journalists in the southern region, particularly in Kandahar, challenges facing media work, and journalists’ access to information.


In the meeting, governor of Kandahar assured that he supports the work of journalists and media outlets. He also said that the media can serve as a bridge between the government and the people and that journalists, when working professionally and responsibly, can play an important role in addressing challenges of the society.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
