Provincial gender coordinators of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) visited Hareem Zan Radio Station in Badakhshan province and Safa Radio Station in Nangarhar province.
The AJSC provincial gender coordinators, in the meetings with women journalists and media workers of these media houses, discussed the challenges facing women in media such as lack of access to information, economic hardships and lack of capacity building and training programs for women.
In these meetings, the female journalists of these two media houses expressed their concerns about the difficulties facing women journalists and the lack of adequate support from the international media support organizations, and demanded that these problems be addressed.
In order to address the challenges facing women journalists and media workers, the AJSC has hired female provincial coordinators in different provinces.
