AJSC Organizes Work Meetings of Joint Media-Government Committees in Bamyan and Panjshir Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized work meetings with government officials of Bamyan and Panjshir provinces. These meetings were organized to address challenges facing media work and to strengthen the work of Joint Media-Government Committee (JMGC) in these provinces.


Deputy governor of Panjshir province, directors and other officials of the information and culture directorates, AJSC provincial representatives, spokespersons and representatives of a number of local government entities, media managers and local journalists of the said provinces participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, journalists’ safety, government officials’ cooperation with the media, challenges facing media work such as lack of access to information and financial hardships of the media houses were discussed.


The JMGCs were established in these provinces at the recommendation of the AJSC, to address the challenges facing media and journalists, and facilitating better working relationship between government and the media.


The AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and better working relationships between government and the media.
