AJSC Meet Government Spokespersons in Seven Provinces to Facilitate Better Access to Information

To facilitate journalists’ access to information, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized separate meetings with spokespersons of various government entities in Panjshir, Helmand, Laghman, Zabul, Farah, Nimroz and Badghis provinces.


AJSC’s provincial focal points, Mawlawi, Mohammad Qasem Riaz, spokesperson for the office of governor of Helmand, Abdul Malik Wafa Niazi, spokesperson for the officer of governor of Laghman, Abidullah Farooqi, spokesperson of Panjshir’s police command, Sediqullah Sediqi, spokesperson for Badhghis’ police command, Gul Ahmad Qudrat, spokesperson for Nimroz’s police command, Hafizullah Samim, spokesperson for Farah’s directorate of education and Zabihullah Jawhar, spokesperson for Zabul’s police command, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, facilitating journalists’ better access to credible and on-time information, and creating better working relationship between media and the government, were discussed.


Spokespersons of various government organizations promised to cooperate with the journalists and the media, and facilitate journalists’ access to information.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
