The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee, to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Kunar, Panjshir and Saripul provinces.
Mawlana Nasrullah Malikzada, head of Panjshir’s information and culture directorate, Mawlawi Najibullah, head of Kunar’s information and culture directorate, Mula Abdul Ghafar Haqnuma, head Saripul’s information and culture directorate, a number of managers and journalists of local radio stations, and AJSC’s provincial focal points had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, fast-tracking the process of extending media houses’ licenses, facilitating better access to information, journalists’ safety, and creating better working relationship between media and the government were discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will cooperation in addressing challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media, and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
