To address challenges facing media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized separate advocacy meetings with provincial officials in Laghman, Takhar and Nuristan provinces.
Zabihullah Ansari, head of Takhar’s directorate of information and culture, Mawlawi Habibullah Hanafi, head of Takhar’s directorate of propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, Mawlawi Pachaagul Ahmadi, head of Laghman’s directorate of propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, Fazelhaq Khalqyar, head of information department of Nuristan’s directorate of information and culture, and AJSC’s provincial focal points for the said provinces had participated in these meetings.
In the meetings, challenges facing journalists, journalists’ access to credible and on time information, safety of journalists, were discussed.
In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
