The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Mawlawi Mohammad Zarif, the newly appointed governor of Saripul province, in a meeting in this province.
In this meeting, issues such as financial challenges facing media houses, the overall media situation in this province, journalists’ safety and access to information were discussed.
Ghulam Sakhi Frotan, AJSC’s provincial focal point for Saripul, in addition to providing information on AJSC’s activities, emphasized on the need for the governor’s office’s cooperation in facilitating journalists’ access to on time and credible information and urged the governor to address challenges facing journalists.
Governor of Saripul province said that he supports journalists in their field of work and that the governor’s office’ commitment based on the Islamic Emirate’s policy is still in place.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
