AJSC Hold Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in Logar, Paktika, Uruzgan and Helmand Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee, to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Logar, Paktika, Uruzgan and Helmand  provinces.


Hafiz Abdul Bari Rashid, head of Helmand’s information and culture directorate, Agha Wali Quraishi, head of Uruzgan’s information and culture directorate, Rafiullah Samim, head of Logar’s information and culture directorate, Mawlawi Mohammad Amin Huzaifa, head of Paktika’s information and culture directorate, AJSC’s provincial focal points, and a number of media mangers and journalists of local media houses of these provinces had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, facilitating better access to information, journalists’ safety, financial issues of media houses, and creating better working relationship between media and the government were discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will cooperation in addressing challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
