The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC), to address challenges facing media work, met with Mawlawi Ziualhaq Haqmal, acting deputy minister of publication of the Ministry of Information and Culture (MOIC) in Herat province.
Shamil Ahmad Mashal, AJSC’s provincial focal point for western zone, in addition to providing information on AJSC’s activities, discussed challenges facing journalists and media workers, the overall media situation in this zone, high cost of annual frequency licenses, journalists’ safety and access to information.
In the meeting, Mr.Haqmal emphasized on addressing challenges facing journalists and media houses of Baghlan province and said that he’ll share the challenges with relevant government officials.
The AJSC has been working for facilitating better working relationships between the government and the media, and a safe environment for journalists.
