Abdul Qadeem Wyar, deputy and acting director of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) introduced Azizullah Aziz as the coordinator for the eastern zone to government officials, local media managers and journalists of Nangarhar province.
In the meeting held for this purpose, Abdul Qadeem Wyar, deputy and acting director of the AJSC, Mawlawi Siddiqullah Qarraishi, head of information department of information and culture directorate, Yousof Zarifi, AJSC provincial coordinator, Hafiz Abdul Basir Zabuli, spokesperson for Nangarhar’s police command, and a number of local media managers and journalists of this province had participated.
In this meeting, in addition to introducing Mr. Aziz, cooperation with the AJSC’s newly appointed AJSC’s newly appointed zone coordinator and facilitating journalists’ access to credible and timely information, were discussed.
Mr. Aziz is a prominent media figure in the country’s eastern zone. He has studied Journalism and has a 18-year work experience with the media. He has worked in the media sector in various capacities including broadcast manager, producer, reporter and presenter. AJSC believes that with the addition of Mr. Aziz to its team, the organization’s activities will increase and improve and the challenges facing journalists and media workers in this zone will be handled in an efficient manner.
It is worth mentioning that Yousof Zarifi worked as AJSC eastern zone coordinator prior to Mr. Aziz’s appointment.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
