The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized meetings in Nangarhar, Ghazni and Kundoz provinces to facilitate journalists and media outlets’ timely access to credible information.
Directors and other officials of the information and culture directorates, AJSC coordinators for eastern, central and northeastern zones, spokespersons and representatives of a number of local government entities, media managers and local journalists of the said provinces had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings the concepts related to information and importance of journalists’ access to information were discussed, and the need for government facilitating access to information was emphasized.
Government officials in these meetings promised to cooperate with the journalists and the media outlets, and provide journalists with the needed information.
AJSC has been continuously working to facilitate a safe environment for journalists and media workers across the country.
