The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Ghousuddin Rahbar, governor of Farah province. Abdul Hai Sabawoon, director of information and culture and Basir Silab, AJSC provincial focal point for Farah had also participated in this meeting.
In this meeting, issues such as financial challenges facing media houses, the overall media situation in this province, journalists’ safety and access to information were discussed.
Shamil Ahmad Mashal, AJSC coordinator for the western zone, in addition to providing information on AJSC’s activities, emphasized the need for the governor’s office’s cooperation with journalists and media houses.
Governor of Farah province said that the work of media and journalists is effective give the current circumstances, and emphasized on supporting media outlets and journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
