AJSC Organizes Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials of Four Provinces in the Northern Zone

To address challenges facing media work in the northern zoen, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized separate advocacy meetings with provincial officials Samangan, Jawzjan, Saripul and Faryab provinces.


Mawlawi Saifullah Mutasim, head of Jawzjan’s directorate of information and culture, Mawlawi Faiz Mohammad Raihan, head of Samangan’s directorate of labor and social affairs, Mawlawi Shamsullah Mohammadi, head of Faryab’s directorate of information and culture, Mulah Abdul Ghafar Hawnuma, Head of Saripul’s directorate of information and culture, a number of local journalists of Saripul, and AJSC’s provincial focal points for the said provinces had participated in these meetings.


In the meetings, challenges facing journalists, journalists’ access to credible and timely information, safety of journalists, and recruitment of spokespersons for government entities to facilitate better access to information, were discussed.


In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
