AJSC Organizes Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in Four Provinces

To address challenges facing media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized separate advocacy meetings with provincial officials in Kundoz, Kunar, Baghlan and Farah provinces.


Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Ilyas, head of Kundoz’s directorate of information and culture, Mawlawi Najibullah Hanif, head of Kunar’s directorate of information and culture, Asadullah Mustafa Hashimi, head of Baghlan’s directorate of information and culture, Mawlawi Abdul Hai Sabawoon, head of Farah’s information and culture and AJSC’s provincial focal points for the said provinces had participated in these meetings.


In the meetings, challenges facing journalists, journalists’ access to credible and on time information, safety of journalists, were discussed.


In the advocacy meetings, government officials of these provinces, promised that government agencies will facilitate improved cooperation and coordination with the media.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
