AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in Northeast Zone

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee, to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Kundoz, Baghlan, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces.


Mawlawi Assadullah Mustafa Hashimi, head of Baghlan’s information and culture directorate, Din Ghulam Osama, head of Badakhshan’s directorate of economy, Mawlawi Habibullah Hanafi, head of Takhar’s directorate of propagation of virtue and prevention vice, Mufti Mohammad Zaman Muzamil, head of Kundoz’s directorate of transportation, Muhibullah Nikzad, head of RTA Takhar, and provincial representatives of AJSC, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, financial challenges of local media outlets in this zone, facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will cooperate in addressing challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
