AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Government Officials in Southeast Zone

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials Khost, Paktia, Paktika and Logar provinces.


Shah Hussain, head of Khost’s information and culture directorate, Qari Abdul Hadi, head of Paktika’s disaster management directorate, Mawlawi Matiullah Abid, head of Logar’s directorate of communication and information technology, Munir Ahmad Azizi, head of ATRA’s provincial office in Logar, Farooq Jan Mangal, AJSC coordinator for the southeaste zone, Abdul Wakeel Saqib, head of media department of Paktia’s directorate of education, Sahil Mangal, AJSC provincial focal point for Paktia and Khairuddin Zaki, AJSC provincial focal point for Paktika, and Khanwali Ahmadzai, AJSC provincial focal point for Logar, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, installation of transmitter filters, challenges of local media outlets in this zone, facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will cooperate in addressing challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
