To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 20 local media houses in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Balkh, Kundoz, Takhar, Baghlan, Laghman, Nuristan, Panjshir, Kunar, Ghor, Farah, Parwan, Saripul, Jawzjan, Samangan, Daikundi, Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Bamyan and Nimroz provinces.
AJSC’s zone coordinators and provincial focal points, head of Baghlan’s information and culture directorates, managers of RTA Baghlan, Daikundi and Nuristan, head of Yazdah and Shahrwand radio and television networks, managers of Hamsada, Paiman, Shkulla, Saday-e Parwan, and Dunaya-e Naw, Saday-e Ghor, Faryad, Taalim Islam, Khoshhal, Nasim, Killid, Rustam Naween, Spinghar, Munar, Kundoz, Roshani, Kichkin, Nuristan Ghag, Arghawan, Ziyar, Sola Arman, Taroon, Mehran, Turkman, Delha, Armaghan, Badloon and Saday-e Kishm radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, installation of transmitter filters, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving the situation of the media, and financial issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
