The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Farah, Ghor and Nimroz provinces.
Mawlawi Abdulhai Zaeim, head of Ghor’s information and culture directorate, Mawlawi Abdulhai Sabawoo, head of Farah’s information and culture directorate, Mawlawi Mohammad Fazel Fazli, head of Nimroz’s directorated of commerce and industry, Mawlawi Yar Mohammad Haqyar, head of Nimroz’s directorate of foreign relations, Mir Ahmad Musamim, head of Ghor’s directorate of refuges and repatriation, and provincial representatives of AJSC, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, financial challenges of local media outlets in these provinces, facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will cooperate in addressing challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
