To facilitate better working environment for media work, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) organized separate advocacy meetings with Mawlawi Ziaulhaq Hamed, Kunar’s police chief, Mulah Noor Aqa Haidar, Ghor’s police chief, and Sayid Mohammad Hanif Ubada Agha, police chief of Bamyan.
In these meetings, in addition to discussing access to information, journalists’ safety and facilitating a safe environment for media work, cooperation of government officials with journalists were emphasized upon.
Government officials, in these meetings, reiterated that they support journalists and media houses adding that they are cooperating with the media houses and will endeavor to facilitate better access to information.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media, and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
