AJSC Meets Officials of the Information and Culture Directorates in Eight Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of the Information and Culture Directorates in Balkh, Nangarhar, Kundoz, Baghlan, Badakhshan, Bamyan, Saripul and Parwan provinces.


Officials of the information and culture directorates in the aforementioned provinces, journalists and media managers of local media houses in a number of these provinces, AJSC’s coordinators for north, east and northeast zones, and provincial representatives of AJSC, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, coverage of events organized by government entities, financial and broadcasting challenges of local media outlets, facilitating journalists’ access to credibly and timely to information, and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in these meetings promised to address challenges facing journalists, and facilitate journalists’ better access to information.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
