To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 24 local media houses in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Kundoz, Takhar, Baghlan, Laghman, Nuristan, Panjshir, Kunar, Parwan, Jawzjan, Badakhshan, Zabul and Helmand provinces.
AJSC’s zone coordinators and provincial focal points managers of RTA Panjshir, Jawzjan, Baghlan and Nuristan, heads of Zala and Simai-e Mehr radio and television networks, managers of Roshani, Turkman, Ghazal, Khkula, Paigham, Paron Ghag, Ghag, Staa, Zaland Ghag, Paiman, Dunyai-e Nawin, Khushhal, Ziar, Hamsada, Danish-e Roz, Itefaq-e Nawin, Sanga radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, facilitating the process of extending media licenses at the local level, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving the situation of the media, and financial issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
