To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 18 local media houses in Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Kundoz, Takhar, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Panjshir, Kunar, Samangan, Jawzjan and Faryab provinces.
AJSC’s zone coordinators and provincial focal points, managers of RTA Panjshir, Nangarhar and Laghman, heads of Arezu and Shahrwand radio and television networks, managers of Khkula, Haseen, Ghazal, Milma, Zhwand, Khawar, Kundoz, Hamsada, Raihan, Takharistan, Saday-e Bano and Melat Ghag radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, extending local media outlets’ licenses, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving the situation of the media, and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
