To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 18 local media houses in Balkh, Nangarhar, Laghman, Samangan, Jawzjan, Parwan, Baghlan, Zabul, Logar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Nuristan and Badakhshan provinces.
AJSC’s zone coordinators and provincial focal points, head of RTA Helmand, manager of Paiwastoon radio and television network, managers of Khkula, Rustam Nawin, Mahal, Itihad, Muqadas, Harim Zan, Paroon Ghag, Killid, Delha, Darman, Dunya-e Nawin, Kawoon Ghag, Safa, Haqiqat, Ulfat and Adib radio stations had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, high electricity cost, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
