The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) shared challenges facing journalists and media houses with Mawlawi Abdul Samad Jawid, governor of Ghazni province.
Mawlawi Hamidullah Nisar, head of Ghazni’s directorate of information and culture, Gulabuddin Amiri, AJSC’s central zone coordinator, and a number of local media managers and journalists had participated in this meeting.
In addition to discussions on the overall situation of the media work in this province, municipality licenses of the media, high electricity costs and journalists’ access to timely and credible information, the need for the government entities cooperation with journalists and media houses were also emphasized upon.
In this meeting, Ghazni’s governor said media houses should officially submit their recommendations to the office of the governor so that these issues can be addressed once and for all.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
