The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with government officials in Khost, Laghman, Jawzjan, Samangan, Saripul, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Ghor, Farah, Paktia and Paktika provinces.
Deputy governor of Laghman, officials of various government entities in the said provinces, and AJSC’s coordinator for south-eastern zone and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets, high cost of electricity for media, facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
