AJSC Meets Media Managers in 16 Provinces, Discussing Challenges and Opportunities of Media Work

To evaluate challenges and opportunities of media work, in the previous month, the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) held meetings with managers and journalists of 27 local media houses in Kandahar, Kundoz, Laghman, Jawzjan, Parwan, Baghlan, Nimroz, Bamyan, Ghor, Helmand, Uruzgan, Saripul, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Paktia and Badakhshan provinces.


AJSC’s zone coordinators and provincial focal points, heads of RTA Zabul, Parwan and Nimroz, head of Baghlan Bakhtar News Agency, manager of Pamir radio and television network, managers of Saday-e Saripul, Aezaz, Ihsas Ghag, Chiragh, Ziwar, Paigham, Tajalla, Harim Zan, Banowan, Azmoon, Turkamn, Shuja, Anbir, Sola Arman, Kuhandazh, Kundoz, Shama, Sarhad, Firoz Koh, and Arghan radio stations had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges and opportunities facing media work, access to information, AJSC’s activities in improving media situation, journalists’ safety and financial and broadcasting issues of the media were discussed.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
