AJSC Holds Advocacy Meetings with Officials of 20 Government Entities in 16 Provinces

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 20 different government entities in Kundoz, Logar, Bamyan, Zabul, Helmand, Parwan, Farah, Ghor, Nimroz, Takhar, Jawzjan, Saripul, Samangan, Faryab, Paktika and Nuristan provinces.


Polic chief of Samangan, mayor of Farah city, treasurer of Zabul, officials of directorates of information and culture, public health, energy and water, industry and commerce, technical and vocational education and training authority, propagation of virtue and prevention of vice, and various other government entities in the said provinces, and AJSC’s coordinators for west and northeast zones and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.


In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.


Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
