Head of the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee Meets Baghlan-Based Journalists

The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) met with a number of journalists, media managers, and officials of the information and culture directorate of Baghlan, to discuss challenges facing media work, access to information, and journalists’ safety in the province.


Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, during his meetings with officials, journalists, and media managers in Baghlan emphasized on supporting journalists and media houses, adding that AJSC continues its efforts to strengthen the media sector and support journalists.


Media managers and journalists in Baghlan highlighted economic difficulties and the lack of sufficient training programs for journalists and media workers as major challenges to their work, calling for these issues to be addressed.


During these meetings, head of AJSC was accompanied by Hasibullah Fararoon, program manager, and Abdul Wahid Wahdat, AJSC’s representative in Baghlan province.


AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
