The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) introduced Mohammad Omar Nijatmal as its new provincial focal point for Maidan Wardak province. Before the introduction of Mr. Nijatmal, Shukrullah Danish worked as AJSC’s focal point for the province.
Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, Mawlawi Habibullah Mujahid, head of Maidan Wardak’s information and culture directorate, Yousof Zarifi, AJSC provincial coordinator, Gulabuddin Amiri, AJSC centeral zone coordinator, and a number of media managers and journalists of the province attended the meeting held for this purpose.
In the meeting, Jamil Weqar, head of AJSC, while introducing Mr. Nijatmal, said that looking at the current situation of the media, the sector needs more work and that we are committed to make every effort to address the challenges of journalists and consider their recommendations.
Head of information and culture of Maidan Wardak also appreciated AJSC’s efforts, promised to cooperate with AJSC’s newly appointed provincial focal point to improve the media work situation in the province.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the work of journalists and facilitate a safe environment for them.
