The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee (AJSC) to address challenges facing media work, held separate advocacy meetings with officials of 33 different government entities druing the past month in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Khost, Kunduz, Logar, Bamyan, Takhar, Kunar, Paktika, Samangan, Jawzjan, Saripul, Badakhshan, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghor, Laghman, Nuristan, Maidan Wardak, Nimroz and Baghlan provinces.
Deputy governor of Kunar, police chiefs of Kunar and Paktika, officials of directorates of information and culture, and various other government entities, head of AJSC, its coordinators for eastern, southern, south-eastern and north-eastern zones and provincial representatives, had participated in these meetings.
In these meetings, challenges facing media work, appointing spokespersons, broadcasting challenges of local media outlets facilitating better access to information and journalists’ safety were among the topics discussed.
Government officials, in addition to their support for media and journalists, said that they will endeavour to address challenges facing journalists.
AJSC has been consistently working to address challenges facing the media and facilitate a safe environment for journalists.
