The Afghan Journalists Safety Committee organized several training programs for journalists and media workers in different provinces of the country.

The training programs were held in Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh, Kandahar, Baghlan, Ghazni and Badakhshan provinces for media workers and covered issues such as journalist safety, first aid, reporting, psychosocial support, and cyber security.

The safety training programs covered topics such as safety measures on a mission, security measures in war zones, safety and security measures in crowded areas, and the proper use of first aid.

Also, the cybersecurity programs discussed some important and essential topics such as cyber security, types of cyber threats, cybercrimes, and solutions to keep journalists safe from cybercrimes.

In addition, due to the tough situation that journalists and media workers face, AJSC launched a series of psychosocial support programs. In this program, psychosocial support was provided to journalists and media workers by professionals in the field and various dimensions of challenges and tools to deal with them were discussed.

It is noteworthy that participants of these programs considered holding of such programs important for the capacity building of journalists and media workers in the province, and called for organizing similar support programs by the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee in the future as well.
